Hello and welcome Bear Valley Middle School students, families, and community members to the 2023-2024 school year.

At Bear Valley Middle School our entire staff is excited to welcome all of our students back for the 23/24 school year.  Our main goal this year along with academic rigor is to introduce all of our students to the “Bear Valley Way.”  The Bear Valley Way is the way we do things on our site and can range from student expectations and routines to good study habits.  By introducing this to our students it will help them prepare to be successful students here at BVMS and continue in high school.

For the 2023-2024 school year, we will be continuing our commitment to each student’s academic and social/emotional growth.  We will continue our focus on implementing the curriculum standards in all content areas and increasing student achievement, creating a safe environment for our students and staff, and maintaining a positive school culture.  The Bear Valley staff will continue making data-driven decisions through a collaborative process using the Professional Learning Community model where staff comes together on a regular basis and determines next steps for all student’s success based on student data results.

Bear Valley Middle School will also start to engage in our district’s Framework For The Future by focusing on our district’s Learner Profile in which each student’s learning experience is personalized, authentic, competency-based, equitable, and inclusive.  We want to put the focus on our students being empowered learners, empathetic collaborators, ethical scholars, effective communicators, critical thinkers, and creative problem solvers.

Parent and family involvement and communication are a priority at Bear Valley.  Information on parent workshops, PTA meetings, English Language Advisory Committee, School Site Council, Family Days at Lunch, and ways parents can be involved in planning and decision-making regarding the operation of the school will be shared via the school webpage and through our Thrillshare communication platform that we utilize.  Our goal is to communicate and collaborate to keep our families informed.  We want and need your involvement and support.
